Report seeks greater protection for Indigenous in Latin America

The IIRF has released a new report on threats to the religious freedom of Indigenous peoples in Latin America, coauthored by Dennis Petri and Jason Klocek.

The report examined Paraguay, Mexico, and Colombia as cases of countries where Indigenous peoples, who represent 8 percent of the total Latin American population, endure not only widespread poverty and health disparities but persistent religious discrimination as well. By shedding light on this problem in countries not generally known for religious freedom violations, the report makes the case for greater interventions on behalf of Indigenous rights.
